Children's Lantern Festival - Tet Trung Thu

On 23 September 2018, SEMVAC proudly presented the annual Children’s Lantern Festival to welcome in the mid-autumn festival. It was a success, with over 1500 people coming out to enjoy the day.

Over 800 lanterns and little goodies were given to the children, who also enjoyed a free sausage sizzle and balloons. Guests were treated to a multicultural performance from the Kealba School of Music and other performers. A highlight of the day with the dragon dance which led the procession of guests through Buckingham Ave.

SEMVAC would like to acknowledge the Victorian government who provided us with a grant to make this fun day possible. We would also like to thank our volunteers and particularly extend our thanks to our distinguished guests, Mayor Youhourn Shea, Cr Roz Blades AM, Cr Tim Dark, Cr Sean O’Reilly, Cr Loi Truong and Cr Heang Tak and thank you for your continued support of SEMVAC’s community work.
